My name is Diana Mota and it was my first experience abroad and my first contact with the EVS.
There were some challenges that appeared during all the month. Since the experience of living in a house with 10 volunteers completely diferent from each other; to build our own beds with pallets (a little bit strange at that moment but it was an unforgettable experience of teamwork), to cut trees, to move Big Big rocks, to build 50 bean bags, to do all the decorations and start to prepare the activities for the festival…
Sometimes we didn't understand the reason of some tasks. We thought: why do we need to do it? And in those moments we felt that we needed some more explanation about the final goals of each action. Maybe some work meetings would have been better before the festival.
However, the overall view about the project is very positive. The group could work as a team; the organization tried to help us and did its best for us; the latvian volunteers worked together with us and showed some of the cultural aspects of Latvia; and the festival was very nice, even though the problems with the rain.
In brief, I feel that it was an exciting adventure of exchange that made me grow up.
I will never forget it! I can only say: Obrigada =)
