Lucia, did coming to Ventspils was good idea?

¡Hola! Hi!

I can say that all the nerves and fears about going to unknown and far country as Latvia disappeared in just a couple of days when I arrived to the Youth House, as the volunteers and the mentors were very close to us and that help us be a family in a while.

The Youth House was our place where we were working and our home (in the first floor). Our daily day was like a big multicultural family where we cooked, ate, had fun, made our ideas work…

It was very rewarding to be able to see the result of our creativity, inventions and effort worked. Moreover, all the skills I have learned: I never thought I would be able to organize the promotion of the Random Republika Festival in the pop-up tents, sewing with the machine, building decorative structures or even cooking for 15 or 20 people. I still can’t believe all what I have learned!

I can only be grateful: to the organizations for giving me this huge opportunity and wonderful experience; to local people, for helping, enjoying with us and showing the Latvian culture, language and cities. To sum up, to all that make us our daily day abroad easier and a spectacular festival organization!

Now, when someone says me the word Latvia, it remembers me adventures, emotions and unforgettable experiences that I will never forget. I recommend and encourage everyone to live this amazing summer (or Mallorca’s winter?)
